Linnea and I went to a barbecue party last night, and we did it. Okay, I guess you’re wondering what the heck I’m talking about. If you know Linnea and I, you know that every Monday we start a new weight watchers diet. And just about every week, we’re not on that diet anymore by Thursday or Friday the latest. About half of those times, it’s due to going to dinner with people. Other times we go to a restaurant to celebrate something (the reasons start to get suspicious because we’re addicted to food). The rest of the time we just convince ourselves to eat because we jointly had bad days or something. This Monday started the same, but then we did it (well, we DIDN’T do what I was just talking about)!
Last night Linnea and I attended a barbecue party with a bunch of friends. Did I mention we did it? What did we do? We didn’t break our diet! At a barbecue. A barbecue with sausage, pulled pork, and the softest M&M sugar cookies I’ve ever seen. You can say it was quite a feat.
Like. A. Huge. Feat.
We haven’t done something like this all summer long, and we certainly had plenty of opportunities. We only had 1 day notice too. Luckily, for some odd reason, we were more determined this time. The night before we went to Sam’s Club and bought a big pack of boneless/skinless chicken breasts, and marinated them in a really yummy Italian marinade (pack of Italian dressing seasoning, lemon juice, oil). Everyone raved about the marinade. We raved because we didn’t cheat. I ate two grilled chicken sandwiches (on wheat rolls) with some green pepper, grapes, and two Coors Lights. That was a total of 13 WW points. I had 13 WW points left for Friday when we showed up to the barbecue. That’s right. Success. Luckily, I also still had a bunch of flex points (35 points to use whenever during the week) so I even ate an ice cream (light) sundae when I got home.
This was so huge I’ll probably get back on the Wii Fit soon. I’ll keep you posted.
